It has been a fantastic start to 2015 and I'm looking forward to what the rest of the year has to bring!
I was able to sleep in, relax some this morning by doing some scrapbooking and then was off to Ocean City for my first 5k of the new year. I do get a bit bummed when I go to these events by myself but I did have an enjoyable run. I finished the race in 31:32 which is outstanding since I've been taking it easy since the full marathon back in October. I definitely think the new running shoes had a lot to do with it. My feet didn't hurt at all.
After the 5k this afternoon I came home and had a wonderful lunch. I definitely think having a lot of food prepared and ready to go is the best thing for me. I was able to have chicken, carrots, tzatziki sauce, and roasted eggplant spread as soon as I walked in the door. It was SOOOO good! After lunch and a quick shower Chuck and I took the kids out for a walk. Since Zoey was sick early in 2014 she always complains about her feet hurting. Well since we are convinced that she now just says that so she doesn't have to walk we have instituted a family walk that will happen three times a week at a minimum. Zoey did better than Jesse and we walked .8 miles. When the walk was over no one was ready to go inside yet so we got on our bikes and biked 3.1 miles!
Yep, you are reading this correctly I ran a 5k (3.1 miles), walked .8 miles, and then biked another 3.1 miles all today. Saying that I'm a bit tired is a bit of an understatement and I think I'm going to sleep quite well tonight!
The kids started their new chore charts today as well. That didn't go as well as I had hoped for but they did manage to both received $0.75 of their daily allowance. Unfortunately they both lost $0.25 of that when it was bed time for fighting and not listening. They were both fairly unhappy but I am hoping that losing money will start to get them to realize that fighting and not listening among other things is not acceptable.
I also managed to set up an exercise program for myself that I will be following religiously. I need exercise in my life and I just can't keep it away. I need to keep the weight that I have lost off and I need to continue to lose weight for my own health but also for my family. I want to be around for a LONG LONG LONG time!
I hope that everyone has had a fabulous start to 2015!
