Coloring Easter Eggs

This is the egg I did before I wiped off the shaving cream!

I wanted to do a new type of Easter Eggs coloring with the kids this year. I bought the shaving cream a week or so ago and have the stamping ink in my craft supply. I thought, this is going to be so much fun, the kids are going to love it!

So, before the kids could run off in the hail storm on Sunday, to their friends houses, I asked them if they wanted to color Easter eggs. Chuck had already hard boiled some eggs and we were ready to go.

Zoey says "nah, I'm going to Keara's" and Jesse comes over and gives me a hug...looks up at me and says "Mommy, I'm just too old for this. I know you don't like it but you need to realize that we are growing up."  Zoey says "Yeah Mommy". I seriously had tears in my eyes and I just wanted to break down. I'm not ready for this, even though I know it's coming. Unfortunately way too fast for my liking!

I tried to convince Jesse that it would be fun but he still said "meh, I'm going to Mo Mo's". So off my children went to go play with their friends and I stood at the door looking like a sad puppy!

Well hmmmph! I wanted to color
Easter eggs with my kiddos!

YES, I was pouting!

A few minutes later Zoey voice comes over the walkie talkie saying that Keara can't play and she guesses that she'll dye Easter eggs with me.

"Well geez, don't do it on my account!" is what I'm thinking but instead I say "OH YEAH! Be careful coming home, see you soon!"

Zoey had an absolute blast coloring eggs. We only did a couple, but she was having so much fun.

Supplies needed:

  • Shaving Cream, the cheap stuff is fine!
  • Ink of some sort. Food coloring probably would have worked too.
  • rubber gloves
  • paper towels
  • hard boiled eggs, the non cracked kind. LOL!
  • tooth pick
  • tray or plate, I used the toaster oven tray but have used a cake pan before.
  • Kids that want to have fun, I believe this is a requirement!!!!!!!!!!

After putting on your gloves, spray the shaving cream on the pan. You don't need an enormous amount, matter of fact just use a little and spread it around with your finger(s).

Add drops of ink (or food coloring) wherever you want on the shaving cream. Then use the tooth pick to make a swirl.

Roll the egg in the shaving cream, coloring it as you wish. Once done, clean off the excess shaving cream with a papertowel. Feel free to repeat these steps to get the desired look.

Your finished product will have smiles, giggles, and tie dyed eggs!
