Jesse sick AGAIN!

Jesse is sick AGAIN! Man, we can't get a break! He was sent home again for throwing up! The doctor wants to see him this afternoon to discuss weight loss, issues and possibilities for all of this!

They are sending Jesse for an Upper GI study. The doctor believes he may have (in layman's terms) a twisted stomach or GER (reflux). The UGI will show if he has a twisted stomach. If it is he will grow out of it over time. If it is not this "twisted stomach" than he will have to go to a pediatric Gastroenterologist (sp?).

Jesse had reflux as an infant and he grew out of it. We had to start him on rice cereal mixed with the breast milk then with the formula very early on.

I have to say I am not thrilled about either prognosis.

The doctor said there is no telling when he will vomit (it seems to happen every 4 to 5 days). And that until we get the tests done (the doctor's office is going to schedule it), he can eat his normal foods. Which normally consists of chicken fingers, crackers, mac n cheese, cheese, applesauce, and milk/juice. So it's not much.

Every once in a while he will eat raviolis, but not too often.

I feel really bad for him. Usually when he gets sick he he wants to sit on my lap and while he's getting sick he says "Mommy I'm done, I'm done!". Poor guy!

And I feel bad for daycare but what can I do. There's no telling when a bad day will hit. The doctor said unless he has a fever he can stay at daycare.

Here's hoping for everyone's sake that these vomitting fits don't happen very often and that they happen on the weekend.
